Tiếng ViệtOn September 30, 2021, Viet Lotus successfully organized an online international conference webinar with the topic “Growth opportunities amid and post Covid-19 pandemic for Singaporean and Vietnamese businesses”. The conference was honored to have the participation of precious guests and professional speakers.
The webinar was chaired by Viet Lotus Corporation (VLC), the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), and the Viet-Sing Friendship Association (VSFA), which attracted a large number of international businesses around the world to attend.
The event opened with a Welcome remark by Mr. Nguyen Huy Dung – Deputy Minister, Ministry of Information & Communications with excerpts in his speech “As a leading role in the digital age, the Viet Nam Government have taken actions by promoting the digital transformation progress, improving and completing the institution to realizing the new and disruptive digital innovation and technology. The Government has launched the National Strategy on Digital Transformation and the National Strategy on Digital Government, and will soon issue strategies on Digital Infrastructure, Digital Economy and Digital Society. Singapore and Singapore based companies have become the largest investor in Viet Nam with a total capital of 9 Billion USD in 2020, and in the first 9 months of 2021, Singapore remains at the top FDI country invest in Vietnam with 6,3 Billion USD. This means that the Covid pandemic could not be able to change the confidence of Singaporean entrepreneurs in the investment environment of Viet Nam.”
Followed by the speech of the Deputy Minister, Ministry of Industry and Trade – Mr. Tran Quoc Khanh emphasized “At the 53rd ASEAN Economic Ministers Meeting held virtually earlier this month, ASEAN Economic Ministers together with counterparts from ASEAN’s Dialogue Partners have agreed on the necessity to remain committed to an open and rules-based multilateral trading system, to keep the market open for trade and investment as well as to promote trade facilitation measures in order to strengthen the global and regional supply chains.”
In addition, Ambassador Michael W. Michalak – Senior Vice President and Regional Managing Director, US-ASEAN Business Council also made comments “The COVID-19 is a global issue that no one country can solve on its own. In Southeast Asia, and, indeed in many countries around the world, governments are already shifting from a Pandemic to Endemic mentality – developing the protocols and SOP’s and educating citizens in new habits we must learn to adapt to new ways of living, working, and interacting knowing that the virus will be with us for many years to come. Many commentators have spoken about the accelerated innovation and digitization in the tech sector as people turned to the cloud to cope with new realities under lockdowns. The effects of the global pandemic have driven a spike in demand for digital commerce such as online shopping, working, deliveries, education, entertainment, and even telehealth.”
According to Dr. Vu Viet Ngoan – Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Viet Lotus “Viet Lotus, an innovation center, is eager to act as a gateway for foreign technology companies to access to Vietnam market. Viet Lotus is very willing to collaborate with innovation centers, technology companies across the region to build a comprehensive innovation ecosystem, an alliance of partners in connection to digital transformation, foster technology diffusion.”
There were also professional speakers from different fields who shared their experiences as well as valuable lessons learned from their businesses on how to overcome and develop during the pandemic.
